Mixed-Up Margery

Thanks to a series of muddled Boston Herald columns that put together make absolutely no sense, it’s been quite a week for WTKK’s Margery Eagan.

Try following along:

— Martha Coakley (who blindly supports ObamaNancyHarryCare even though it will damage healthcare in Massachusetts): good!

— Sarah Palin (who opposes this bureaucratic monstrosity): bad

— Sarah Palin: very, very, very bad (two catty tirades in a row just to make the point clear)

— ObamaCare that doesn’t include taxpayer-funded abortions: unacceptable

— Health care rationing (the direct result of coming “reform”, including reduced pap smears and mammograms: bad

Added together, how does any of this make sense? Eagan supports the very people who want to bring about the rationing she fears. She opposes those who question this rushed, bloated, expensive and generally ill-considered legislation, but is also angry with its proponents because they aren’t extreme enough on the abortion question.

She knows rationing is coming, with women a likely early target, but sees it as inevitable (when it isn’t at all if this bill is killed!) because “Americans (unrealistically) demand perfection“:

The dilemma, of course, is that when it comes to cancer or heart disease or lung transplants or anything else health-wise, Americans demand perfection. But perfection is very, very expensive, and we’re just about tapped out.

Understandably, she’s taking a lot of heat in the comments section below her piece. A sampling:

Hey Madge- that’s the BEGINNING of the health care “rationing” that us “scare mongers” (b@stards that we are) have been telling you would happen under this health care shell game. Ironic that they’d start with one of their base constituencies. The Bill hasn’t even PASSED yet, and the rationing and rationalizing has begun.

Years and Years of “get in early, get checked, early detection is key” goes out the window because why? Because Obama wants it that way? What’s amazing is that all those medical experts can be bought off that easily. And this is JUST the beginning….

Hey ladies, is this the “Change” you voted for? When are the people who pay bills in this country going to say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH and stop this moron in the White House from jeopardizing the safety of women!

Hey Marge:

NOW you get it… Your Messiah let you down (again) only THIS TIME you can SEE it

He isn’t REFORMING health care, he is TAKING IT OVER, and replacing it with something else.

It sure ain’t HEALTH CARE, except by name

Marge, now it’s YOUR TURN. DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT, for a change, instead of whining about the problem

Poor Marge, she just cannot get over the fact that her idol, “The Great Messiah” “Mr. O” could care less about what happens to her or anyone else. Now the people who run this nation who will vote for and pass anything he asks them to, which some of them have not read. They might do something if they knew it would cost them their cushy jobs. Marge, you will just have to live with it til 2010, and then pray we can get them out of there and just possibly have another impeachment trial.

The big question: Margery, you left yourself wide open for intense blowback, why?

  1. Her show stinks just like the rest of them on WTKK. I see Mel Robbins has taken a larger time slot on Saturdays. Pignoli Joe and Huggy weren’t on and will be back next week in a new time slot.

The shuffling of the deck chairs continues.

  2. What is that material on the side and back of Braude’s head? What condition causes what looks like thinning poodle fur to appear there?

  3. At this point, the Magpie has too many personal and unresolved issues to write any column having anthing to do with men, or women.

For someone who strongly supports Obama, she is missing the point (w/her latest column). He has said it is going to take hard work, and tough measures to get any kind of reform. She’s never able to see the “bigger picture” and her columns reflect it.

A headline to her column reading the Feds are ready to kill us off? Writing that alone tells me she is part of the “problem” and not the “solution”.

And let me take a few steps down towards the gutter: god she looks like a trainwreck in her usual black.

Magpie: have you ever considered adding any color or style to your wardrobe? Big Jim’s purple sweats would be an improvement to your basic black.

Now stick to writing about pets until you get some needed therapy to deal with your man/woman issues.

  4. Soon The United States of America will sell our health care to all but our working citizens who are most burdened with paying for it.

We do not enforce laws against illegal entry to the US and those who wish to enter LEGALLY are tortured with insurmountable mountains of red tape often ending in heartbreak. The immigrants WE WANT, those who wish to obey the law, those who have a dream and a passion to be in these United States are treated like criminals! And those who ignore our laws are cared for better than the working class in this country.

    Who benefits?

Who is this political prostitution ring that dangles U.S. citizenship and U.S. health care as if they are their own powerless victims for sale.

    Who sells us? Why?

If we answer this, we will find the source of the poison that has brought our culture folding down like a broken slave under the blows of an abusive master.

  5. Margery is a puppet for the male elite of the democratic party and obediently betrays her own gender.

For generations, women have fought hard to gain inches in the battle for cultural, political, and economic equality. Women who will so easily turn on their own gender for political gain are merely used and controlled by the male elite regardless of party. Consider the higher ground that was fought for before you lose it altogether.

Think twice women before participating in what has amounted to metaphorical “rape by media” of the Former Alaskan Governor Palin.

    Wake up.

  6. Margie’s contradictory rants are getting too much recognition on this site. It just feeds her need to attract attention from the crowd (which drove her to be a HS cheerleader some 50 years ago) . Her thoughts that she has blabbed on the radio have never been logical and are only designed to get a reaction from Jimbo. When her rants are put in print, they are even more jumbled. Let the idiotic non-sense that she writes stand on its own. As thoughtful people digest her bizarre ramblings, she will be recognized as influential as a Diane Patrick endorsement.

  7. Thanks for the continued rage against Maggie, and for the unflattering pictures of her (is there any other kind?). Maggie and her media ‘pals’ come here, so your entry here did indeed hit its target. Maggie is a very sorry excuse for a woman, I will say that. Combine a physically unappealing, old female media hack with her clear realization that her business is collapsing, and this is the kind of person you end up with. Good job, Brian. Maybe ‘Brillo Pad’ Braude will come to her defense under some clever screen name. Or not. I vote for ‘or not.’

  8. Staffer, for someone who claims their history w/the Magpie was only a “one night” thing, she seems to have left quite an impression…..in the hornball department.

  9. I don’t know what is worse, pirates voyeurism or staffers bragging. Get a room already.

Can we get back to some substance here. Brian, we need more on the Atty. General and her “confession” about the priest she let go with a slap on the wrist after he molested little boys.

  10. Hey Joe…we can’t all be as lucky as you are, having Billie (you know Billie, your wife?) And if I was interested in being any kind of voyeur, trust me, peeking in on a drunk and stoned Magpie hanging from the chandelier is NOT a titillating thought, OK?

Don’t fret- I’ll be gone soon enough. Look for me in the Macy’s Day parade….I’ll wear my eye patch for easy recognition.

And while I’m in NY, I’m sure my absence will return the much needed “substance” here to the site.

Oh, and as far as Coakley goes, you might have to give the readers here more info. Unless the Geoghan story was front and center on the Herald, they probably don’t know what you’re talking about.

  11. So TTK gives more hours to Mel’s bland liberal lite informercial and more time to the unlistenable Joe & Huggy at the expense of The Money Show? What’s up with that?

  12. Thanksgiving…..both here and NY. I volunteered dinner at my house a while back. Nothing confirmed, so I decided to go to NY. After securing my reservations, I find out my offer of hosting dinner was assumed – even though never confirmed.

Too late to cancel my reservations, and too late to back out of cooking. So I’ll serve dinner, clean up and jump on a train.

As far as Coakley: look, there were all kinds of mishandling of these pedophile priests. DA’s make mistakes- we all make mistakes. It so happens Geoghan turned out to be one of the worst of the worst.

Does it make her any less qualified to be a US Senator? Not in my book.

  13. Alan Khazei was on Jimmy Myers’ show yesterday, and while bragging about how pro-environment he’s been and would continue to be as U.S. Senator, he drops Van Jones’ name. Did Khazei not receive the memo about Van Jones or is Khazei so left-wing that he actually thought it was beneficial to associate himself with Jones?

Not surprisingly, I could find nothing on Khazei’s website about fighting illegal immigration or cutting taxes for the middle class.

  14. Margery has spun out of control in so many ways explained by others that there’s no need for me to pile on.

She is still a handsome woman. Why bash her looks? And she has a nice voice. Nothing much to say at this point, but a pleasant timbre nonetheless.

  15. Jeez, Al, don’t knock yourself out w/the compliments.

Magpie is a “handsome woman”. Handsome, is great as an adjective for a man, however when applied to a woman, it give the impression of a woman who is OK looking, but lacks feminity and/or sex appeal. Which actually describes her to a tee.

Well Staffer has assured us what she lacks in sex appeal in her looks, she makes up for in the sack.

I find her voice difficult to understand…..she talks too fast and had trouble with enunciation. One needs to make a concerted effort to listen to her. Actually she is much better alone. She’s neither talking too fast to try to get a word in edgewise, nor prefacing everything with a reference to Jim.

But, really Al, those “handsome” references. You must be a real sweet-talker! Ha!

  16. Handsome is an appropriate word to use for Margery. She is an attractive strong woman who has aged well. You would not call her bad looking or beautiful….but handsome fits. My grandparents used the term when they were still alive. Sally Fields and Meryl Streep I would call “handsome”.

  17. Alright, alright. So she’s a decent looking woman. “Handsome” is not a loaded term. She’s not 20 years old. So what?

I find it much more interesting to dissect her disdain for women, especially younger women on the other side, than to follow her lead and bash her looks.

One day those of you who spend all day obsessing on this woman will possibly emerge from mom’s basement into the light. You’ll have to contend with a world where not everyone looks like those pictures you “use” on the Internet all day while the rest of us are working. You’ll also have to deal with the aging process.

Stick to her whackiness, not her looks.

  18. You’re too easy, Al. I was merely mocking your use of “handsome”.

And I agree- dissecting her apparent “issues” with younger, good-looking women is much more interesting. The negative comments she gets on her columns focus on her (Magpie’s) looks, and they are brutal, with the rare exception of a few valid comments on the column…..however Magpie never alters her attacks on these women? I wonder why?

Do you think it’s true that getting any attention, albeit negative and shallow is better than less or no attention? I wonder. Does it help soothe the aging process by resorting to taking cheap shots at younger women? We all age.

    Acceptance is the key.

And, as usual, I disagree with Cricket. Meryl, in my book is ultra-feminine and Sally Field will always have her “Gidget” vibe. Handsome, if I ever used that term is Elizabeth Dole.

My grandmother used handsome, too. And she called “cleavage”, “bosom” and she called her companion/lover her “gentleman friend” and “panty hose” were “nylons”. She’s been dead and buried for over 30 years and those antiquated terms died with her.

  19. piratetoby: Without looking it up, can you tell what acter played Sally Field as Sister Bertrille’s friend “Carlos” on “The Flying Nun?”

    (It was not Larry Storch.)

  20. Damn you, Pizza. This will drive me nuts. I’m going thru the alphabet in my head and it will continue to loop until I get it.

    Damn, damn you!

And I will NOT look it up.

Was he something like a gardener or groundskeeper in the show?

  21. piratetoby: Alejandro Rey

BTW, “Reverend Mother” was played by an actress who appeared in at least one “Twilight Zone” episode (one of her lines was something to the effect of “Bush Yarby’s been shot dead.”)

  22. thanks, Pizza. Truthfully, I would never have gotten that one.

Is Mother Superior (actress) someone really obscure?

At first I wanted to say Rosalind Russell, but that’s not it. She was in a movie with Hailley Milsl titled “Make Room for Angels”.

Give me another hint….initials maybe? It will give me something to think about while I’m stuffing the bird tonight.
