I’m Back, What Did I Miss?

Just back from DC, where I encountered Obama cultists in the flesh, infiltrated an event and even got into a debate with one of the Dear Leader’s campaign managers at a cigar-filled restaurant.

And sure enough, all kinds of crap was going on around here while I was away:

– My email in-box was filled with folks wondering how I could have missed the arrest of yet another Entercommie employee, this time a WEEI air personality on vehicular homicide charges.

Do we need a full-time person here at SaveWRKO just to handle the media police beat?

Until Entercom fails and (hopefully) more competent owners take over, however, there’s not much that can be done. The company has a history of poor hiring decisions based on emotion, sheer incompetence and bizarre agendas. That has led to similar flaps nationwide.

Entercom WILL collapse, it’s just a matter of when. Do they figure out how to survive a bit longer, or disappear before the end of the year? Even failed CEO David Field may not know the answer.

In the meantime, our thoughts and prayers are with Barbara Riley, who has just lost her 19-year-old son to yet another drunk driver.

– How soon will the word “embattled” be used to describe deranged Senate President Therese Murray (D- Furybury) and Mayor-For-Life Menino? Can’t think of two more deserving individuals.

– For another reason why local talk radio beats syndication in New England, look no further than this story: State House page arrested on ammo, pot charges.

  1. Fail???? What fail????

ETM owners will show up in DC and DEMAND a bail out. I mean SOMEBODY has got to pay felon. “If [he] goes down, there will be a depression, not just a recession.”.

There is NO failure anymore. Unfortunately there is NO success anymore either.

    Welkome komrad!

  2. I think at the very least there ought to be a Police Blotter section created on Save WRKO that could cover all the future rape, drunken driving, murder, disorderly conduct, domestic abuse, and all other arrests that come out of 20 Guest Street.

Brighton District Court must be one helluva show with this cast of characters.

  3. the alleged drunk driver and person believed to be responsible for the death of a 19 year old was NOT an employee of WRKO/WEEI/Entercom, he was an employee of Metro Traffic/Westwood One, the company ETM brought in when they fired the news staff a while back.

Westwood One and Metro are listed as being at 7 Bullfinch place, that’s the Government Center area not Brighton. They may even be in the old WRKO studios, pre 116 huntington Ave

I doubt the guy even works on Guest Street.

  4. Hysterical, The Herald ran the headline, ‘Embattled Sen. Dianne Wilkerson resigns’ for the eighth time in ten days. It felt like ‘Groundhog Day’ seeing it again today.

  5. True, the employee is apparently a Metro guy (but the “WEEI guy” is more attention getting in the headline!)…but I still like the term
I created for this kind of thing:
    an Entercrime…

  6. You also missed The Three Brothers Grim as they flew into Washington in their own corporate jets (carbon footprint, anyone?) before heading to Congress in their best ‘pauper’ clothing. Best line was from a Massachusetts Democrat (!) who said this: “My fear is that you’re going to take this money and continue the same stupid decisions you’ve made for 25 years.” Now, if you’re a democrat-leaning UAW worker who’s voted democratic all your life, how do you like it when ‘one of yours’ essentially tells you and your whole industry to ‘go pound sand?’ ‘Stupid decisions’ in this case means PAYING HEALTH CARE COSTS FOR PEOPLE WHO DON’T EVEN WORK THERE ANY MORE! Democrats: cannibalism begins even before the Messiah does.
