Howie And Whitey

What would Howie Carr do without Whitey Bulger? It seems like every birthday, anniversary, alleged sighting and news development related to his former mob underlings provides an excuse for Howie to write another column and fill up two or three more shows on the subject.

Hasn’t this cow been milked? Or is there another drop or two in there somewhere?

If so, I’ve no doubt Howie will find it.

  1. So right, Brian. Howie will milk that teat until, well, the cows come home. And the lemmings will all listen and vote for his HOF candidacy and other looney things.

I love Howie (except for his over-the-top anti-gay rants), but he’s gotta go. Much like he game Jerry Williams the ol’ heave ho, someone needs to do the same for Howie.

You man enough for the job, Bri?

  2. Let me flip this on you. If Howie let one of these events go by without a mention don’t you think people would be questioning why he didn’t run a column on it?

Yeah, people would wonder why he didn’t bother and they would criticize him.

So no matter what he does, he is damned.

  3. Are you guys serious? You have a Boston-based serial killing mobster who was protected by both a corrupt FBI Field Office and his own corrupt brother who was one of the most powerful politicians in Massachusetts history and who has the highest bounty ever placed on an American on the FBI’s 10 Most Wanted List – and you are upset because someone writes regular columns about him?

THIS is why Whitey Bulger is still on the lam. Howie’s columns just serve to remind all of us just how corrupt Massachusetts really is. The entire Whitey Bulger story is the perfect description of why Massachusetts is at the very bottom of the barrel when it comes to political ethics.
