I am much more interested in understanding why a five-year-old boy choked to death on a local skool bus than watching local TV news bubbleheads continue their mindless Super Bowl hype.

The bus driver obviously doesn’t know how to implement the heimlich maneuver…..shouldn’t someone in charge of kids know some emergency procedures, cpr, heimlich, etc. simple procedures that could save a life?
As for the superbowl hype, well hell, there’s NOTHING more important than the superbowl dontchaknow! I’m surprised the brittany fiasco has taken a few minutes away from the all important superbowl, then again she trumps EVERY story………..DON’T get me started!
My take on the article was different- that perhaps the driver isn’t allowed to remove the foreign object based on district policy. Would like to see someone investigate this.
Brian, I think you’re right – afraid of lawsuits. I guess.
babs, sistah, can you believe the bus driver? yikes.
meanwhile, brian, why does finneran keep saying “multi-year contract”? does he get paid even if fired? i thought they could terminate him for this or for things like low ratings (or both)?
splain it to us.
Hey Joy, I just don’t understand why anyone who is in charge of kids does not have some kind of emergency procedure training. This little kid is dead, if the bus driver knew heimlich and used it I’m guessing this little boy would be alive today. A few other readers have mentioned lawsuits, policies, etc. but to me that’s just crazy,,,,anyone in charge of my kid – school, daycare, better damn well know some kind of emergency procedure other than calling 911.
WHAT? Finneran has a MULTI YEAR contract, oh God, I think I’m gonna be sick! I haven’t listened to the radio every second today but I have not heard the promo for the Alaska trip today, anyone heard it today?
Joy, It seems that they already have cause to terminate him based on outside employment that wasn’t approved ahead of time by RKO management. How long will they let him stay? Who knows? I don’t think he cares about the show anymore.
attention dumbasses!
joy is a poser and has been for weeks.
poser joy play you like fools. so funny to watch you fall for it. yikes how stupid.
joy poser doesn’t give a s**t about what it says,
even if it is a story about a little kids tragic death. Just playing you like a steel drum. dumb dumb dumb. heinous! joy poser is trying to lure you into being ignorant and a**holes to discredit the blog. Now would real joy do that? huh? huh?
I am a school bus driver (7D, not the big yellow ones) and we are re-certified in first aid/CPR annually. This includes “abdominal thrust” training as well. So either this kid was way in the back and no other kids noticed that he was choking, or the driver was grossly, unimaginably negligent. However, we weren’t there and don’t know the exact circumstances – nor will we unless some intrepid “bubblehead” (love that) lays off of their Tom Brady man-love and does some actual reporting.
babs, karen, et. al.
As you can see i do have a poser problem! You can always tell my postings in that I mostly keep to the thread, while this looney is always trying to stir things up in her sophomoric way with references to my (recently departed) father. Sad, really. So please don’t let this ruin our forum. The more we ignore her the more she goes away… maybe next time for good!
“While attempting to remove the object, the bus driver inadvertantly broke a rib, leading to a massive lawsuit for incorrect life saving procedures.” Would have been the other headline, more fit for MSM “journalism” vice reporting.
Remember folks, this is Massa-toilet-stahn, the other state that Edwards would be happy to sue you or anyone else in, especially those “big, evil, screwel bus corporations.” Can’t lose here!
Put yourself in the bus driver’s shoes and the parents of the little boy, then think before you place your almighty and self-righteous blame. We all know that the detractors would have done everything right, but none of you were there, and it is what it is. Those involved will have to live with this forever and it will not be an easy road.
I choose to say a prayer for all involved so that they may find strength to carry on, and then, take steps to prevent this from ever happening again. Remember that every time your child arrives at school and then at home again because of those who transport them. And no, I am not connected with the big bus industry, but I am a parent of a child who does ride a bus to and from school and I would be devesated if I were in those parents shoes. And the bus driver’s for that matter.
Excuse me BiSh, but the mother of this child is VERY VERY angry that her son is dead,,,,I smell a LAWSUIT coming. IF the bus driver had known how to do the heimlich I’m betting the child would be alive today, better to have a freakin’ broken rib than be dead. Save your preachin for somewhere else. You can pray all you want hon but the fact remains, the child is dead because the busdriver did NOTHING.
“Skool”?
Is our children learning?
;^)
Ok Barbara hon, you are the wiser one, chickie. The lawsuit you “smell coming” will bring out the facts as to whether the bus driver was trained in the life saving steps or not, or was just plain old negligent. Let’s save all of the speculation, the trial, and the hanging for the jury, ok, baby? Do you personlly know the mother/family of the deceased, or are you just speculating, dear? I’ll bet that the mom is grieving now and is in denial, and the mom will slowly become angry as time passes and the facts come out, but for now, dealing with the loss is unimagineable, except for professionals such as yourself, sistah. I do know what sudden, unexpected loss of a loved one brings, hon, and anger is not the first emotion. Yes, it would be much better for the family to sue for broken ribs, but that did not happen and tragically, a child did die and I was by no means preaching to anyone, lady. That was sarcasm, and meant to be so, ma’am. Look the word up if you own a dictionary, babe. Neither of us were on that bus that day, and I shudder to think of you sitting on the jury because you have already convicted and sentenced the bus driver to death before any evidence or facts have been presented. May I ask you, oh wise one, what exactly did the child choke to death on and who gave the child the object? Might that person be to blame as well, and not the bus driver? What if the parents gave the child the potentially life threatening choking device? Would you hang the “VERY VERY angry” mother for not making everyone aware of the fact that she saw fit to give her child a potentially fatal object, which led to the death?
Put the noose and the rhetoric down for a minute, take your medication hon, and be thankful it wasn’t your child. Stop speaking for those you know nothing about, because as Brian has posted, no one knows what the POLICY is for this type of event, and I will add that no one knows for sure yet what the facts are. That’s why the authorities launch what’s called an INVESTIGATION. Look that one up too, sweetie. Proper investigations take time, money, and effort. Feel free to send your contribution, baby.
I’m sorry that you took my concerns so personally. Maybe we should all just shut up and follow your wisdom without adding our thoughts or concerns to this blog? Then we can change it to savehondotcom. I still will say a prayer for the family that lost the child so they may find the strength to continue being a family and to get to the bottom of the situation. I am sorry that bothers you so much darling. It will be difficult for them to hear the facts and the testimony in open court relating to the last minutes of their child’s life. But we cannot all be as strong as you, hon.
Keep trying to stir up those who post here and to inject yourself into the topic at hand and take over the subject, hon. Soon you will have to change your screen name…
The facts remain, the child is gone, and we need to find out why. Attack me if it makes you feel better but I still stand by the parties involved and I still pray that they will some day find peace with themselves and their loss. I pray for you too, hon. And the Super Bowl is on for tomorrow. I pray for Brady and the Patriots as well. May they kick the Giants hard and set all kinds of NFL records, so tomorrow would be a good time for you to twist yourself into a knot over this post with all of your ignorance and anger.
Peace Babs. And a prayer for you.
obnoxious
BiSh, keep living in your dream world hon, people like you are what’s wrong with this State and this World.
