Local Disgrace Returns To WTKK

Like a cockroach that even nuclear war can’t eliminate, local plagiarist / racist / political extremist Mike Barnicle is returning to WTKK, albeit in a sharply diminished capacity.

This time, according to the Herald, Barnicle will be reduced to just three weekly canned segments lasting a mere 90 seconds, but even that may be too much of this widely discredited civic detriment for some listeners.

Mike Barnicle will be a regular voice on Don Imus’ new radio show on WTKK-FM, the station anounced Friday.

“Barnicle’s View,” a 90-second commentary, will debut on WTKK (96.9) exclusively when Imus returns to syndication at 6 a.m. Monday. The segment will air at 6:55 a.m. and 8:55 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays during “Imus in the Morning.”

“It’s a feature about life and the world around us,” said WTKK Program Director Grace Blazer. “We are thrilled Mike will be providing his valuable insight and commentary about issues that impact us all on a daily basis.”

Barnicle had been a regular guest on the cranky cowboy’s show and when Imus was canned in April, Barnicle filled in for him on WTKK.

Other than a history of well- documented hate speech and unethical behavior, it’s hard to imagine what “valuable insight” Mike could possibly bring to WTKK or any other media outlet. He’s been throughly discredited in New England, so what purpose does his return serve?

  1. What I don’t understand is why they’re having him on even for 90 seconds three days a week. What in hell was the rationale behind that??

  2. Isn’t funny that all of Imus’s friends had nothing to do with him when he was in trouble, but now that he’s done his penance, they can’t wait to get back on his show. It’s time for someone to tell the Iman that it’s over and time to head off to the ranch and leave radio alone.

  3. This is another example of the man trying to keep we people of color in our place. Shame on WTKK for hiring Don Imus back, and for allowing Barnicle to appear.

  4. Here is a difficult question to answer. Is WTKK trying to lose listeners or gain listeners. If it is the former, they are succeeding!

  5. I think it’s unfair to say Mike Plagercle doesn’t have valuable insight. He has stolen lots of valuable insights and he’s not afraid to share them.

As for the 90 seconds 3 times a week…lets hope they cut that excessive over-exposure back ASAP!

  6. Lets hope tkk contains the crud unlike entercome whom “are” the crud.

Hearing Howies voice is like listening in the night to the thin squeal of a dying rabbit under the compression of a coyotes jaw. You know whats going on and you just wish it would be over.

You may as well put on white noise.

  7. Mike Barnicle is just Keith Olbermann with less hair. What they share is an inane sense of ‘entitlement’ to be heard.

  8. How ’bout we get real here. Republican WTTK goes where the Republican dollars are. The knuckle-dragging audience loves right-wing, anti-black, anti-Latino, anti-woman, anti-Democratic. Imus, who has talent and is smart and funny, is crude but the least objectionable of the lot. He’s the one who calls Dick Cheney a “war criminal,” after all. The real Neanderthal jerks there are Michael Graham, Jay Severin and Bill O’Reilly. Bully O’Reilly is from Fox TV. Graham is a fundamentalist twit up from South Carolina. Severin is an anti-gay sexist who seems obsessed with Hillary Clinton’s rear end. Liberal Jim Braude, who is on at noon with the harmless Margery Eagan, is the only halfway-sane voice on the station. Mike Barnicle and Imus are irrelevant compared to the slime of Graham, Severin and O’Reilly.

  9. Like the mullet, the Yugo, and the elevated train tracks of the Orange Line, Mike Barnicle is no longer the least bit relevant.

On his best day, he had little to say or write that was of any importance at all.

Imus is throwing him a pity bone, and Barnicle is too dumb to see it. he needs to just retire to his mansion in Lincoln and let his wife brng home the bacon. he can fry it in the pan. Like the aging, doddering sportscaster on Ch.4, Barnicle is addicted to the spotlight, and will risk his fingernails grasping for the most minute scrappling of media exposure. It’s sad.

  10. Two words: Anne Finucane.

    Barnicle’s wife is a VP
    at Bank of America. They’re
    not hiring his voice, their
    renting her juice.

  11. Is there any evidence B of A ramps up ad spending on WTKK when Barnicle is part of the station?

If so, that kind of quid pro quo is disgusting and should not be tolerated by the company.

I’ve heard this theory before and have wondered if it is true.

    Hey dan
when they said open your mind they didn’t mean for you to dump it out.

    road kill!

narrow narrow narrow narrow narrow narrow mind.

You need to crack that coconut bub.

    Need any help?

  13. Mike Carbuncle should “guest” on Finn the Crim’s or Todd Fill-in-berg’s shows, that way we can rest assured that absolutely nobody is listening…

  14. Hey really!
