With the Patriots and their cheating scandal poised to dominate yet another day’s headlines, we can pretty much write off this week as one where a lot of important stories were sadly overlooked.
Governor Patrick owes Bill Belichick a big favor after the latter’s on-field transgressions shielded Deval from what otherwise would have been a brutal week.
Nonetheless, it’s now clear to me based on several of Thursday’s shows that talk radio didn’t give Patrick a pass (though Finneran and Eagan & Braude sure did) on his stupid 9-11 comments. That’s the first ray of hope I’ve seen in the local media landscape for some time.
In today’s Globe, Deval is quoted as saying “Frankly, I was taught in my church that all violent attack is a failure of human understanding.” Wait a minute, I thought government officials could not use their religious beliefs to influence public policy!
Except when you worship at the church of libralism.
